The two sides plan to cooperate in five aspects: network construction and sharing, enriching terminal categories, and cooperating with overseas operators

The cooperation between the two countries is considered to be a warm embrace to jointly cope with the huge pressure brought by the rapid development of China mobile business. at this year's China Unicom financial report press conference, Wang Xiaochu, chairman of China Unicom, announced the latest shared base station data. As of the end of February 2016, there were about 10000 base stations in cooperation between the two sides. China Unicom has reversed the decline in mobile business revenue in the past 17 months through aggregation and cooperation strategies

at present, China Unicom and Chinatelecom are actively promoting the in-depth cooperation of 4G networks, and initially consider adopting the independent carrier frequency sharing scheme in the new area of 1.8g band of both sides. In the specific network deployment, for areas where Unicom does not have 2g/3g network coverage, it is necessary to build 1.8GHz g/l multi-mode equipment to solve Unicom's voice coverage. Therefore, if 18GHz g/l multimode equipment is deployed, the base station sharing function will be enabled, and LTE two carrier frequencies and GSM carrier frequencies are required to be configured

however, in the process of landing, some manufacturers have a huge space for the future development of 1.8GHz. After the base station sharing function is enabled, g/l multimode equipment does not support independent carrier frequency configuration. In terms of Huawei, 1.8GHz g/l multi-mode stations have been used in Hainan and Shandong outfields for tests. A single station is opened for sharing, and LTE two carrier frequencies are configured in an independent carrier frequency mode. At the same time, GSM1800 carrier frequency is configured, and the voice fallback g1800 function is normal

in terms of ZTE and Ericsson, because the outfield 2G is from different manufacturers, it does not have the condition of multi-mode station. This function has been verified and passed in the laboratory scenario. For Nokia, the current 1.8 GHz g/l multi-mode device version only supports China Unicom and China Telecom to share one LTE 20MHz carrier frequency and GSM carrier frequency, and it is impossible to configure two LTE carrier frequencies in an independent carrier frequency mode. The subsequent plans of China Telecom and China Unicom will promote the evolution of manufacturers' equipment, so that the 1.8 GHz g/l multi-mode base station can meet the needs of China Unicom from traditional fertilizer to fine chemical industry and telecom 4G network in-depth cooperation applications

in 2015, the combined revenue of China Unicom and Chinatelecom was less than that of China Mobile, and the net profit of such failures was often less than half of that of China Mobile. At present, the total number of 4G users in China has exceeded 400million. China Mobile ranks first with more than 300million users, followed by Chinatelecom with 58.46 million users and China Unicom with 44.16 million users

according to the data, China Mobile is far ahead in the current development of the most critical 4G users. In fact, not only in the number of users, but also in the number of 4G base stations, terminal development investment, service team construction and other aspects, China Mobile is unique, and the market has formed a big and small pattern that is difficult to pry

although the two sides have built tens of thousands of FDD base stations, which has saved a lot of costs, this number is still too small, and this running in will take time, whether in technology, management, operation and maintenance

looking at the operation data of the two companies in February 2016, there is not much positive. It is almost impossible for the two sides to change the pattern of the telecommunications market in the short term. However, a key issue worth noting is the deployment time of volte on both sides. As we all know, volte can provide voice services on 4G networks: the sound quality is much higher than 2g/3g, but the spectrum resources occupied are much lower

from now on, China Telecom and China Unicom will try to commercialize volte on a small scale in 2016, or promote volte nationwide in 2017. At that time, the low-frequency resources released by the two companies will be used to deploy 4G networks, which can improve the coverage of 4G networks

although such cooperation does not pose a great threat to China Mobile, China Mobile has felt pressure. At the annual performance conference, Shang Bing, chairman of China Mobile, pointed out that the other two operators cooperated in resources to speed up LTE FDD network coverage. It is believed that the market competition will be more intense in the second half of this year
